Om déze reden wil Wentworth Miller niet meer in Prison Break spelen

Prison Break krijgt toch geen vervolg. Hoofdrolspelers Wentworth Miller en Dominic Purcell willen niet langer de Scofield-broers spelen. Enne, Wentworth deelt een duidelijke reden waarom hij afscheid neemt van zijn personage.

Geen heterorollen

Wentworth, die in 2013 uit de kast kwam, geeft op Instagram aan dat hij voortaan geen hetero-rollen meer wil aannemen. “Ik wil geen hetero-personages meer spelen. Hun verhalen zijn al verteld – en nog veel vaker”, legt de acteur uit.

“Dus geen Michael meer. Als je fan bent van het programma en hoopte op meer seizoenen, begrijp ik de teleurstelling. Sorry daarvoor.”

De opnames van de serie zijn dan eindelijk begonnen.

Collega en Dominic kan de beslissing van Wentworth alleen maar steunen. “Het was geweldig maat. Wat een tijd was het. Ik sta volkomen achter je boodschap en begrijp je besluit. Ik ben blij dat je deze keuze hebt gemaakt voor jouw gezondheid en jouw waarheid. Love ya brother.”

Fox maakte vanmiddag dan ook bekend dat een nieuw seizoen van Prison Break officieel van de baan is. “Wentworth Miller en Dominic Purcell hebben officieel hun rollen in Prison Break verlaten. We hebben veel respect voor hun keuze en wensen ze het allerbeste.”
