Oscars 2025: dit zijn de genomineerden

Wicked

Aan Rachel en Bowen de eer om dit jaar de Oscar-nominaties bekend te maken. Hoewel alle nominaties interessant zijn, kijken filmliefhebbers er elk jaar weer naar uit welke films er in de running zijn voor Beste Film. Ook zijn Wicked-fans ontzettend benieuwd of Cynthia Erivo voor haar rol in de film een nominatie zal krijgen. Ze is namelijk heel dichtbij haar EGOT-status (Emmy-, Grammy-, Oscar- en Tony-Award, red.).

In 2016 won Cynthia de Tony Award voor beste actrice in een musical voor haar hoofdrol in The Color Purple. In 2017 won ze met de cast van The Color Purple de award voor Outstanding On-Camera Musical Performance in a Daytime Program. Ook sleepte ze dat jaar met de New Broadway Cast de Grammy voor Best Musical Theatre Album voor The Color Purple.

Het lijkt erop dat Cynthia een stuk dichterbij haar EGOT-status is, want voor Wicked is ze genomineerd voor de Oscar Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Wicked sleepte daarnaast nog negen andere nominaties in de wacht. Indrukwekkend!

Oscars

De uitreiking van The Acadamy Awards vinden in de nacht van zondag 2 maart plaats in het Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Comedian Conan O'Brien neemt de presentatie van de awardshow voor zijn rekening. Wie in Nederland de Oscars + rode loper wil zien, zal de wekker om 00.30 uur moeten zetten. Speciaal voor deze show zet Ziggo kanaal 13 open voor FilmBox (dit kanaal is beschikbaar in alle televisiepakketten van Ziggo).
