Vannacht was het dan eindelijk zover: de Academy Awards 2022 vonden plaats in het Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Dune en CODA werden de grote winnaars van de 94e editie van de Oscars. Bijzondere avond
De Oscars 2022 gaan de boeken in als een heel bijzondere avond. Zo schreven Ariana DeBose en Troy Kotsur met hun Oscar-winst geschiedenis. Ariana is namelijk de eerste openlijke queer vrouw die de Oscar voor Beste Vrouwelijke Bijrol in ontvangst mag nemen, en Troy is de eerste dove man die een gouden beeldje voor zijn acteerwerk ontving.
Daarnaast won Will Smith de Oscar voor Beste acteur én maakte hij de tongen los door Chris Rock een klap te verkopen.
